ISP can’t alter firmware.
Apple do it based on region/network but it’s all software and reverts moment you leave.

So not a physical button after all….iPhone 16's new supercharged Camera Control button is some proper innovation
Outside of developing its own silicon for its iPhones, Apple has not been really innovative with its iPhones releases in recent years. However, the new Camera Control feature that's available on all iPhone 16 models this year could be one of the best features it has introduced in recent years. And in typical Apple style, it's simple, useful, and it combines recent technological advancements.
Unlike the Action Button they introduced last year, the Camera Control isn't exactly a button. It's a small touch-capacitive area with pressure-sensitive sensors and haptic motors beneath that produce haptic feedback to imitate the actual clickiness of a button. This is basically the same technology used in today's MacBook's Force Touch touchpads. And it's covered with sapphire glass, so it should be durable, too.

The iPhone 16 lineup is nice, but it didn't make me go "Wow!" like some other models have done in the past.
It is maybe a little underwhelming but I don't criticise Apple for it. After all, one has to keep in mind that they do not try to cater for only the previous model's users to upgrade, but for users with older models too, and to have a decent product for new (to the Apple family) users as well.
To improve on one's product on an annual basis is understandable, but you can only do so much in a year. That is why I enjoy upgrading every 2-3 years, the difference in design & specs between 2 or 3 generations generally lets me feel like I really have a new phone.
In my opinion, not worth the upgrade from a 15 (unless it is a non-Pro 15 and you REALLY cannot wait another year to have access to Apple Intelligence). Debatable if it is worth upgrading from the 14 series, but definitely worth upgrading from the 13 series or older.

Sure. I’m just saying that Orange removed the Hotspot function, the setting was simply not there in Settings. I’m not sure how they did it but they did it.

Works out to around R24K for the Pro Max 256GB
I have the 15 Pro Max so not sure what i'll be doing yet. I might buy it while there and sell my 15 PM when I get back
All depends on secondhand market price by that time.

Telkom iPhones were the same. Apple allows networks to set up something in network settings that allows them to disable things like hotspot. Not sure if they still do that at Telkom.
amazon usually has good pricing on phones sometimes better than istore

Get a full day out of it so no worries on my side from a battery perspective.
All depends if you want the larger phone or not
Obviously larger screen and better battery life are the main differences.

Am also on 85% - tbh i had hoped for better health esp after only 18 months but yeah. That one factor alone has me looking at potentially getting the 16
