Hi Guys

I have two iphones and both came with the APN: iphone.vodacom.za and they don't work. I have changed this to Internet, pw guest and I have internet.

Has anybody else had this problem? I phoned Nashua and Vodacom my service providers but non one knows why it does not work.

Vodacom says we however must use the iphone APN.

Regards
Michél

You should call vodacom and ask them to activate the APN on your sim card I believe.

Hi

OK here goes, just got a reply from nashua. The APN should be changed to Internet, guest. as the iphone APN was a test for the promotion.

Regards
Michél

Yup, I bought one at vodashop with my MTN sim, works hundreds percent.

I thought it was not working since the new iPhone contract (upgrade) only kicks on today. I changed my APN back to iphone.vodacom.za this morning and it works fine.

interesting, AFAIK both Vodacom and MTN have the same APN - "internet". Mines configured that way and works fine.
Why has vodacom created a completely new APN for the iphone?

Well after activating mine last night and chatting with a guy there who was unbelievably jacked up, he says it must be"iphone.vodacom.za" and this is the only one that will work so.......mine works

Probably shaping for the iTunes and App stores?

Who did you upgrade with?
If you on contract your tariff package should be migrated to the i package.
ie: if you on a T240 it should have been migrated to i240.
then everything should work, and you get 100 free sms's and 250MB data...

I just phoned Vodacom with the same issue of not having any services for Internet. They need to activate your APN which is free of charge.

It is "iphone.vodacom.za"...confirmed this on a colleague's iPhone yesterday while setting up an iPad. However the iPad's APN is "internet", but had to be synced with iTunes before the 3G connection worked.
