Hey,

I have a BMW 320i E46 with the standard business radio with front loading CD and rear CD changer. I also have steering wheel controls.

I want to integrate my iPhone. I already have an iTrip and use my phone for navigation but during calls i just can't hear the people on the other side since the speaker sucks. I want a bluetooth kit but don't know what is best. I would prefer integration with the car as it already has buttons for answering calls but I'm not too sure how the OEM kit works. Do I just get BMW to install it? And can it work in conjunction with the BMW iPod kit?

Anyone know where I can get this done, I'm sure it will be hellishly expensive at an original BMW dealer. I'm on Pretoria so some place close maybe?

Thanks

The Parrot CK3000 integrates nicely with the factory-installed radio. Routes the audio through the car speakers and mutes automatically when you have an incoming call. All you'll see of the install is the microphone - the rest is controlled from the steering wheel. Any good installer can install it. I got quotes from a few places here in Cape Town, ranging from R2000 to R2500 fitted.

I don't like the idea of the microphone :( And that one doesn't look like it integrates with the BMW controls?

Did a bit of reading - the microphone can fit in the space next to the front interior light, behind the little plastic grille.

Saw a video on Youtube where the Parrot CK3000 Evolution kit has been integrated in an E46 with a BMW Business CD front loader. You can hide the Parrot controller somewhere, since you only need it to perform the initial setup (I think). Best would be to go see a good installer - don't want to imagine what BMW will charge for an OEM Bluetooth kit.

Hi Jason. I am still waiting for my supplier to to come back to me. They do Original Nokia, Motorola and then also the Parrot car kits. He did sound a bit uncertain when I mentioned that it has to integrate properly with the controls on the steering wheel etc. I think he is now just checking and making sure before he gives me the wrong info.

Once he comes back to me I will let you know.

They also have a network of approved installers so would be able to advise as to where to go closest to you.
