iPhone 3G settings for Vodacom 3G

Hello

I just bought a new iPhone 3G 16GB in Belgium where the iPhones are completely and OFFICIALLY unlocked, i can use my Vodacom SIM without problem.

I have a contract with Vodacom (Weekender)

Can one of you please pass me the configuration (APN, username, password) in order to use the 3G capability here in South Africa ?

I have not subscribed to a DATA package yet, should I do so first ?

The APN is internet, you can leave the rest of the fields blank. You don't need a data package, but your sim must be enabled for data. You can call 155 to confirm.

You should visit the Cell phone sub forum. There is an iPhone tips/tricks thread with some good info in it.

Pleasure. I suggest you do look at getting a data bundle. R2/mb clocks up very quickly on an iPhone

checking on the vodacom website, should i take adhoc or bolton bundle ? i dont understand the difference, the prices seem identical. and thanks for your time answering me

Bolt-on is a month to month (from the 1st to the last day of the month), the other is valid for 30 days from purchase and is not reoccurring i.e. you need to buy a new one every 30 days, where the bolt-on will renew each month.
