Iphone 3Gs From States

Need help from all the braniacs that are on this forum.
I have a fiend in the states that will buy an iphone 3gs fo me, will it work here without anything having to be done to it??

Nope. The iPhones in the USA are network locked. You would need to jail break and unlock it to be able to use it here.
