Ok, so my previous iPhone 3G was stolen, and has been replaced with a 3GS 16 Gb by insurance.
I was planing on buying a 4 when they are released, but in the meantime I have this one to set up and use.
Have just unpacked it and charged it, and now starting to discover all those little irritations that I had to sort out over a year ago with my 3G.
However some of the fixes don't seem to work anymore, and I was wondering if anyone else has fixed them or has any info? They are small things, but are driving me nuts.
I am using this one on MTN, and am downloading the update to 4.01 as I type this. Then will jailbreak.
Call Forwarding Active. Every bloody time I make a call! This irritates the $%$# out of me. I remember this was solved on my old iPhone by dialing ##002# however this no longer works, and pages such as http://www.deltagsm.net/annoying-call-forwarding-active-popup-and-custom-carriers-plist/ say that you can't even edit the carrier file anymore? (Which I don't know how to do anyways)
is there any way to fix this besides trying the ForwardMsgFix 4.0 Cydia package mentioned on one or 2 pages? I have to fix this...it irritates me.
Secondly... Voicemail. Why have a damn voicemail button when it does nothing? On the old phone, the code *5005*86*xxx# worked perfectly. Now it doesn't. Does nothing. Is there any way to program to voicemail button to dial voicemail? Once again I seem to have gone backwards.
I am sure I will come across lots of other little nuisances, but if anyone can solve these 2, I would be very grateful.
