My iPhone 4 drops the network and shows "No Service" if I do not keep it cool. It usually works again when I cool it off and switch it off & on.

If it got really hot it loses all the data and needs a restore to get going again.

The heat isn't too extreme, for example: keeping it in my pocket then getting into a hot car will kill it in about 5 minutes due to the high temps inside the vehicle. It does not get hot by itself.

Anyone have any idea what I can check/do?

lol. so much for your 'i got an iphone' stories at braais :)

It's a "feature". iPhone detects you are near a braai/heat source, so it goes into "Do not disturb mode"

lol good one. Pity that the feature cant be turned off.

Anyways it turns out that its some power thing that cant be replaced on its own. Have to get a new board for R2500.

Quite miffed because I have already replaced the board before. Should have known buying something built by foxconn was a bad idea.

Quick update.

I have to apologise for ragging foxconn

Turns out it was a loose connection because I took the phone apart, put it back together and it is 100% again. Maybe it took some strain from all the "drop tests"
