Dude, why go to Nashua when you can go directly to Vodacom or MTN??

My brother used to be on a Nashua Mobile contract, biggest mistake he ever made. When he phoned CellC , they told him to phone Nashua. And when he phoned Nashua, they told him to phone CellC. It was such a mess, he got another contract directly from Vodacom and just let the Nashua contract run out. His exact words? Never again.

uhm, extra costs! Paying for 2 contracts and only using 1. Doesn't make sense.

My brother just got fed-up with the whole mess.

He was just glad that he could talk to people who could actually help him on his new contract....he is still with them. :)
 
I've been with Nashua Mobile for over 15 years, and I have to admit I've had very good service. No problems with bills, good telephone support and anything I needed done was pretty efficient.
I would change to NTMSP..but can't think of a reason why7 to leave NM.
That is going to come down to their iPhone packages. They will probably only get stock in about a week or so...and if they try and be any more expensive than the published MTNSP packages, I guess I will be forced to change SP's.
Not able to get anything firm out of them. I really hope they come up with some info soon. I can wait a week..but not going to wait months..especially since I have been eligible for an upgrade for over a year.

I got some pricing off them (can't confirm it tho)

Talk 500 16GB -> R1909 pay-in
Talk 500 32GB -> R3009 pay-in

No payment plan available yet.

Nashua have just told me that they are only expecting MTN iPhone 4's at the end of October.
Therefore they can't confirm any pricing either..so I stand a good chance of them being way more than MTNSP..and also a chance that by that time, the "specials" are over and the price is more.
So wait for Nashua, and possibly pay more, or go with MTNSP and lose 15 years of being happy with my SP?
Wish Nashua had an agent on these forums to at least clarify.

Not sure why you would use a "broker" for your cellphone contract, thats basically what Nashua Mobile is ?

They would never be cheaper than taking a contract via VC or MTN.... In my opinion the MTN R379 deal on the iPhone is a great deal for anyone new to the iphone..

PS Nashua Mobile was formed in 1998 So the max time you could be with them is 13 yrs :)
 
They used to be Nashua-NedTel Cellular so it might be longer

That is precisely what Nashua also told my dad. However, he would like to change service providers to MTNSP. Is it possible for him to keep his current number with a with a new MTN iPhone contract?

This is not always the case! I specifically went with Nashua many years back as they had the absolutely cheapest deal on the phone I wanted. That whole "middle man" argument is a great marketing ploy recently punted by some short term insurers...
 
One month later....

Anyone have any update on this?

Not getting any response from Nashua Mobile on the subject....
 
I know that they are awaiting stock and that they SEEM to have 16 GB for "free" on a Talk 500. looks like 1 32 GB still needs a pay-in though...
 
im waiting.....applied last week....apparently end of the month ill get mine...its vodacom contract
 
The info I have is the 8th Nov for MTN phones.
If they don't have it by then, I am off to MTNSP. Not waiting longer than that.

I see from the MTN site http://www.mtnsp.co.za/SHOP/Pages/AppleIphone.aspx that they seam to have a better deal though:

iPhone 4 16 GB, R200 voice, 25 sms'es, 300 MB data for R429/month.

MTN R429 vs Vodacom R589 for roughly the same deal. Can anyone comment on this discrepancy? I'd hate to have to port my number.
