Nuff said:crying: dropped my iPhone 4...

Anyone know where I can get it fixed..? Jhb area?

I'm going with iCrackedIt.co.za...

New screen + shipping, parts sourced from America for R1k... Going to DIY it, phoned gmob this morning, they want 3.5k for the repair, how do you spell "daylight robbery"?

LOL 3.5K - i want what they are smoking..

Dude. Be careful with that. I went the el-cheapo route (R1200) when my 32gb iPhone 4 screen cracked. Doing the actual replacement isn't that difficult.

HOWEVER: There's no oleophobic layer on the part I got, so I have smudge marks EVERYWHERE all the time. Also, the Home button doesn't fit snugly with the el-cheapo part, so sometimes it gets stuck and Voice Control launches. I think iFixit will do it for like R2200 or thereabouts (I stand to be corrected), and after trying to "just live with it" for 3 months I'm fed up and am going to go pay the R2200 to get it done properly. So total cost will be around the R3.5k mark due to my silliness.

Most people put a screen protector on anyways. Why don't you use a screen protector such as a matte screen protector which I always use anyways.

@Ipwn 4 - I have stock of white transparent front and back kits, which include transparent home button. I also have the normal black front and back.

If you are interested PM me and I can save you the wait and some cash too.

Didn't even think of that, no point in having a dirty screen all the time...

@Fxit_man, pm sent...

BOOM - oleophobic coating - http://www.sgpstore.com/cell-phone/...-screen-protector-steinheil-ultra-series.html

But I think most good quality matte screen protectors have oleophobic coatings. That's one of the main reasons I use the good quality matte protectors, not the thick ones that make your screen look crap. That and the anti glare properties are awesome. You can use the phone under quite light bright like under the sun etc more easily now, or even standing under a bright light in a room without glare :)

The stock oleophobic coating doesn't do it enough for me - besides, your screen will scratch anyways, so most people put a screen protector on. Also helps a lot with maintaining phone value when selling the phone off ;)
