I saw on Trace yesterday that the iPhone 5 might be released in June. Did anybody else see this.

I think it is ridiculous, because Apple does not cater different phones for different people like other phone manufacturers. Take for example somebody bought an iPhone 4 3 months ago and now a iPhone 5 comes out. That can't be a nice feeling.

Correct me if I am wrong, but all Apple does is improve on the features of the older models, but the basic concept still remains. Hope that makes sense

All manufacturers do this, its just more apparent with apple cause its one phone basically

Think someone just bought himself an iphone4 and is now getting a bit emotional. They improve the phone, but the old phone is still good no need to upgrade. They do this with all their products!

lol must suck mate

Meh im still a year off from upgrade so I dont mind them releasing a new one :p
There is no difference in terms of operating system between my 3GS and the iphone4 so its no big thing, normally just slightly faster with better display.

You pretty much agree to be Steve Jobs' doormat when you buy an Apple device - its just one of those things. In a year's time (if you get to buy it right as it is released) you will feel stupid and unloved... like I am currently feeling with my iPad!

;)

2 years is a long time to keep any phone. With the rate that technology is moving these days, Apple has to stay competitive. If they don't other Vendors will snatch away end users. You might feel like a fool but you should know by now that Apple does device refreshes every year and good for them, it keeps everyone on their toes pushing newer better technology out everyday...

The iPhone 5 won't be a huge upgrade from the iPhone 4. Sure it'll have a dual-core CPU which will make it feel a little faster, but overall I think the screen, battery life, camera etc will stay pretty much the same.

What do you guys think of a larger display.
I put the iphone in photoshop and made the display larger to see how it will look like and it actually looks quite nice. I know this is kind of stupid but I seen all the stupid rumors about the display going to the edge and everything.

The question: Would be a vible option for apple to just make the display bigger, and what would the size of the display be if they just scaled it to the (almost)edge.

You feel stupid and unloved because Apple sticks to a fairly predictable refresh cycle?

I know people feel the need to keep up with the Jones' but just because a new model is released it doesn't mean your current one is not just as good as it was the day before the announcement.

I'm thinking they could make it a 4" display and it would still look brilliant at 960x640.

I agree with you. I still have iPhone 3G & happy... Ok, not really. I'm just broke. :)

It works like this in ALL technology, who doesn't know that. As soon as you buy something, something else that is better, bigger, faster and cheaper gets released the next day.

Just put your money down and enjoy what you have.

Understandable that newer technology entails newer things and enhancements. But my question is why doesn't Apple make a variety of Iphones available. Or is the iPhone that good that it caters for everyone. From the student to the businessman

What the iphone does is give you a stable, high end device that comes with the necessities standard and allows you to customise the apps on the phone to your requirments and within your budget...
