iPhone 5S possessed - not making/receiving calls - VODACOM

Greetings.

From about lunch-time onwards, my 5S started misbehaving. SO couldn't reach me on the phone. Didn't think much of it, since hers often battles with reception.

But then I tried phoning my phone with the landline. 1st time, reached voicemail - even left a message, with my iPhone in my hand - and nothing happened. No call came through - nada, zip. No missed call notification either. After that - every time I tried, either straight to engaged, or immediately to rapid beeping.

Tried the Reset - had it plugged in to my MBP at the time - funny message flashed up about a factory reset, and something about my Software needing to be updated - which is strange, since I did that a few weeks back. Regardless, started the download, since my phone was bricked (had the iTunes logo and cable on the display).

300-odd mb's into the 1.8GB download, and the phone switches itself on again, without me doing anything? :wtf:

All appears right as rain - whatsapp working etc., emails coming through - but still nothing in the form of calls in and out.

Phone Vodacom - who tell me they know of nothing wrong with the network -- reset blah blah..
No joy.

Trying a restore from backup now, to see if that does the trick.

Any other suggestions?

My guess is the do not disturb mode turned on by mistake. Pull up the bar from the bottom and check if the icon that looks like a moon is highlighted , if so turn it off. That is all I can think will cause this problem.

Sorted now. Still don't know what did the trick.
From Restore, still battled.

Switched off wifi and cellular several times - but then finally waited until No Service was shown, and then switched everything back on again. Message from my initial voicemail popped up - and then everything started working again. :shrugs shoulders:

Definitely not DND -- would've spotted the halfmoon.

An afternoon spent Resetting; removing sim-card; restoring from back-up etc., and nothing made the slightest difference - until it figured it felt like working again. Weird. Must be that time of the month.

Mine had no signal for the afternoon as well (iPhone 4S). When I turned on 3G it was fine again. When 3G is off, it shows all empty circles instead of No Service, which is weird. Usually I get No Service when 3G is on at home, so I turn it off and just use ADSL-wifi.

There has to be something weird that happened.
