iPhone 6 Battery with Telkom Mobile LTE

Anyone else getting awful battery drain with Telkom Mobile LTE? I recently got an iPhone through them and had terrible battery drain in CPT before leaving 3 days later for the USA where I used a local sim with LTE with no battery problems. As soon as my RSA sim was out back in, the battery drained like crazy.

It's most probably due to hunting for 2/3/4G all the time as signal gets weaker

I thought as much, but does anyone else have this problem with their Telkom Mobile phones?

I only use LTE when needed. No point of having it turned on when the phone spends 70 % of the time in my pocket or not in use.

Put your network search on Manual instead of Automatic and see if that helps.

If it's still a problem switch off LTE and confirm if the problem goes away.

Failing that use the Settings > General > Usage > Battery option to see what exactly is draining your phone.

Chances are it's not the network itself but an app trying to access the network and then jumping between 3G/4G that actually kills the battery.

So the istore has now said that the phone can be replaced because of a bad battery...but it can't be replaced as I dented the bottom corner of the phone. Apparently my warranty is now void.

Anyone had this experience before?

Telkom mobile worked in a single spot in my room... Glad it's a secondary sim I barely use
