So my brother wants my P9 Lite so I was thinking of upgrading myself instead of getting another P9 Lite.

I'm judging the iPhone and the Huawei since Telkom Mobile offers both.

I love the finger print reader on my P9 Lite so I know I'm expecting a better camera if I go to the P9.

But I'm bored and want to try the iOS experience, I've heard there's no need for iTunes anymore?
Any deal breakers on iOS? I don't do custom roms or anything and my apps are pretty much standard.

I'd go for the iPhone 6S.

You don't need iTunes unless you want to add music or transfer photos that have been saved on your PC.

I've personally found apps to be more polished on iOS as well.

You can use MediaMonkey for music now. Just need to install iTunes for the drivers.

I don't keep music on my phone, I use Deezer and Spotify.

Although I keep a few MP3s for my ringtone, alarm etc.

Is something like Airdroid available? To transfer files over wifi.

Check if AirMore will suit your needs. Couple vids in YouTube.

Well Miui 8 hides Android pretty well and looks just like iOS except it gives you more freedom. He already had a Huawei so moving to another Chinese company is not a problem. Lastly there's 2.2 mil apps on Android vs 2 mil on iOS. He can also save money by going prepaid or getting a me&you mobile sim with R50 airtime and a free 1gig data p/m and use the extra sim slot for Afrihost data etc.

No I'm not looking for a skinned Android that looks like iOS.
I don't care about the countless apps, I only need a couple and all of them are available on each OS.
Don't need data, I have uncapped LTE so I rather take a phone on contract.

I'm using a Xiaomi at the moment... Moved from an iPhone 6 and I'm really missing iOS.

MIUI may look similar but it will never be the same experience. I do like android but iOS feels more polished IMO...

iTunes, especially for backing up and transferring music is actually excellent. I'm not sure why someone would want to use something else.

How it handles its playlists is an issue for me.
