iPhone 8 & iPhone X Thread

whatwhat said:
20k is around 1666 rand per month for a year, or half that over two years.

Like I said before, if that breaks the bank to save up then use that money to get a better job or an education to get a better job. These are very small amounts, less than monthly groceries.

If your priorities in life are 1) groceries 2) iPhoneX, there are issues with your priorities. R1600 a month for someone who has a family to raise is a lot of money to throw down on a flashy piece of glass. That's school fees, a car payment, petrol money, home insurance, electricity bill, medical aid, and so on. If you can pay all those bills, still have money to save for retirement/rainy day, and find yourself flush with an extra R1600 a month, then go for it.

When I step back and think hard about the Pixel Buds, my head explodes. Not in a good way. It’s utterly insane that the one truly unique thing Google did with the Pixel Buds, on demand language translation, is a thing that will only work with Google’s own smartphone. I’d expect this **** from Apple, sure. But Google is the champion of the open platform. Android is supposed to be the egalitarian alternative to the iOS fiefdom. Now it feels like Google is walling in its own kingdom.

I could do this all day with you ...

My stomach is hurting out of laughter. And you just have to keep repsonding; as I thought you would. Predictable ...

Thanks for being my jester and the laughs ... But alas I need to work unlike you who sits on this forum 24/7 ; good things always come to an end and you are now on my ignore list now ... So bye

But I enjoy poking at idiots and lunatics with a long stick, whatever will I do now?

Can't you just do an in store pick up order? Use istocknow to see which stores near you have stock? They update around 6am in the morning.

Here in California it's been very easy to get a phone as a walk in.

I wanted it on contract and at&t messed up the original order.

I wanted contract to start rebuilding my credit since i was out if the country for 16 years. 2 months ago my credit was an amazing 320.

The in store pickup is for contracts as well. But usually require existing service and social security for validation even if trying to do a full price pick-up for AT&T.

Ouch at the 320 rating.

Didnt have existing service....got a SSN

at least theres no negative activity on my credit report. Its just theres no activity at all! :)

What did you expect? For it to line up with US pricing?

I actually did wish it aligned better, South Africans usually end up getting a raw deal.

Things like the Watch 3 is within 10% of the US price at the moment, once you take into account state tax.

Correct. I was pleasantly surprised by that.

I guess it's a demand thing for the phone - so it might drop if they don't fly off the shelf
