whatwhat is correct, my delivery date was supposed to be mid dec, but I got an email saying it was going to go out on the 24th, and then 2 days ago I got an email saying it shipped already and I have been tracking it through postal system.

You’re lucky, I was just looking at the AT&T thread on McRumors, some unhappy people there, seems the Premier account members are being shafted ever so slightly with dates pushed back.

Yeah but it kind of depends of the model/color he's talking about. The 64 Gig Silvers are becoming pretty available now. Every Apple store in Colorado had them this am. The 256GB SG (which I also ordered) are still pretty limited. It appears more demand for SG than Silver and 256 definitely more in demand.

On the other hand, I am not okay with the amount of posts I have read about people that have ordered the same exact configuration iPhone X (SG 256GB) as me, ordering the same way with AT&T and/or their 'premier', also having ordered (10/27, 8:18am Est.) after the time i had ordered... with them receiving an update past 'in progress' and/or their phones being shipped already and also some receiving theirs.... It is very discouraging... and this whole process just seems screwed the eff up

She looked at her computer and said yes your dates for delivery are between December 4-18. She said they went backordered immediately on preorder day so they are in high demand. I guess I am not opposed to waiting my turn in line but when you see so many others who ordered days after you getting delivery it makes me extremely frustrated. Thank you for this group it does help when others are in the same boat as you. I am just hoping AT&T Premier starts shipping the preorder phones SOON!

I got the 64gb and i am not tracking mine through at&t but the postal service.

So its the 256gb thats on back order. Greedy consumers. :)

It actually was initially available. Not the screen shown posted. But a few hours later it was this December delivery ***

Hah. Yeah I ordered mine at about 9am just as it went live and that screen didn't show. It only came up a few hours later.

I did ask them if I made the "cut" and their response was they "can't really tell at this stage".

My guess is apple allocated 9 iphones for a official 24 November RSA launch.

Not really bothered to wait. Just hope it gets here before I leave on holiday.

Where did you get the idea it’s 9 phones?
 
Gonna be waiting patiently for the calls this week. Pre-ordered from Cell C as a contract upgrade, and pre-ordered from Telkom as a new customer. First one to call me is going to win.
 
Just got this mail from Cellucity:

With massive demand globally, the iPhone X is unfortunately in extreme short supply internationally. Whilst the phone will launch in South Africa on Friday, 24th November, Vodacom is unable to supply us with sufficient stock to be able to fulfil all the pre-orders at launch. We expect the supply to be constrained well into the New Year but Apple will be allocating stock on a weekly shipment schedule and we will continue to manage our pre-order list accordingly.

In fairness to all our customers, we will only hold a pre-ordered device for 24 hours. If you are contacted, please make sure you have all your documents ready and make the necessary arrangements to collect your device urgently. If you have received this message, your pre-order has been confirmed and we will contact you as soon as an iPhone X has been allocated to you.

This is my first time pre-ordering something in SA. Do the cell-networks generally follow the same process as their counterparts in NA and EU? i.e. Pre-order a week before, shipment arrives day of launch at your door...?
 
istore told me it will ship on the 23rd.

Yup, already told them to shove it :). If CellC doesn't reach out to me I'm gonna wait 1-2 weeks before I can buy it cash at DionWired or whatever. I'm pretty sure the iStores are gonna be sold out for a while.
