iPhone and laptop sync

My wife works for PWC and their laptops connect via vpn to their servers for internet and email.
Now the VPN is constantly giving hassles both on connecting and with speed so she is getting worked up as there are deadlines and often important emails need to get sent asap.

She has Dell laptop (only has internet access when connected to VPN) and iPhone with internet access.
Would be ideal if she could "send" a file in emergencies to her iPhone and just send the email via gmail.

Any options?

Cant have iTunes installed on her work laptop either.

She needs to speak the PWC's IT administrator. The VPN speed isues may be caused by your connection at home or by PWC's connection. It may also be caused by the way the VPN is configured at PWC. There is nothing you at home can do about it.

The reason she cannot install iTunes on her work laptop is probably due to Domain policies preventing any kind of software to be installed on work devices.

Yip. policy in place.
Found a program called FileBrowser that allows you to browse an smb share.
So she could create a public share on her laptop, connect to wireless router, connect iphone to wireless router and use FileBrowser to email.
tried it on my iPad and it works well.
