iPhone from UK - wont text/call people

Hi,

I got an iPhone from the UK (Software Version: 1.1.2 (3B48b)) and I have unlocked, jailbroken and etc'd the phone..

When I try go into text messages - it goes into the application - but then kicks me back to the main screen before I can even see/write a message.

Also when I try phone, I goto Keypad and then try call a number - but after dialing the first 2 digits - again kicks me back to main screen.

I have signal - although im on Virgin and its saying carrier is CellC..

Any ideas please?
