Hey guys.

What can I do if I have recovered a stolen iPhone but it has the thieves icloud account hence it has an activation lock on it?
And it seems he got my details and removed the phone from my Apple profile. Surely Apple will have a record of this !
Any thoughts on how I can sort this out?

Inside job - we knew who it was. We just needed to catch him out - thing is once he got a few warm ones, he ran away and now we don't know where he is, but when I reset the phone, I can see his icloud email there from what is visible.

So the only way you can do it is to contact Apple support.
You will need to be able to prove you are the owner of the phone though.
Without proof you could just be the person who stole it trying to get it unblocked to use!

A few warmer ones should get this sorted ..... once you track him down. he can't hide forever

Did you ever activate lost mode etc and can you still do a find my iphone from your account?

So how did he get rid of your Apple account on the phone when it was stolen?
Did you not have an Apple account signed in?

You will definitely need the proof of purchase.

Apple support will insist on it.

If you have it, they should be able to help you.
