Hello guys,
Why wait until June 2007 to get your iPhone? Just download iPhone 0.2 (file attached) and start to impress your friends and colleagues today!
Of course it is just for fun (Launcher app) and it is not completly done yet but the way I see it is that I have until June 2007 to finish the application!
Of course it is FREE so enjoy!
Version info:
Quote:
1- Version 0.2 now allows now to set each button to a app in our device. For instance the icon "Mail" can be linked to "SnapperMail" , "ChatterMail" or whatever. To access the "buttons setting" window, simply click on the top of the screen (as if you were trying to open a menu) and a list of the icons will appears. Each icon will have a pulldown menu listing all the app on your device. Simply choose one by icon. By default all the icon are set to "Launcher". You can also access this setting window by clicking on the "menu" button on your device.
2- Version 0.2 also allows you to navigate around the icons using the 5-ways pad (blue ring).
3- I changed the icons a little bit. For instance I removed the "Weather" icon and replaced by "Notes" or Memo.
I am still working on the graphic quality and the 320x480.

Apple “iPhone” Skins for Other Devices Setting Apple on Edge
Posted Jan 15, 2007, 12:23 PM ET
Since Apple is already facing legal issues on all fronts, why not have those lawyers go after websites hosting "iPhone" look-alike skins?
Apple Inc. is not pleased to say the least. It seems that as soon as Apple announced its new "iPhone" - the name is still under dispute as it has been trademarked by Linksys, a division of Cisco - developers wanted to have that look for their phones. So some developers have created skins that look much like the Apple mobile phone but will work for all Palm and Windows mobile phone devices.
Skins do not add any functions to the device but do make it look like the Apple device and that seems to be the problem as the Apple icons are copyrighted and the new skins do create a UI that looks distinctly like Apple's device. As soon as the skins were uploaded to the Brighthand and Xda-developers message boards, Apple put their legal team into action who started sending out removal letters to the hosting websites. They have even gone after some journalists who have only reported the fact of the skins existence.
Now it seems as the bloggers and journalists who were just last week praising Apple for its revolutionary new mobile device are now changing their tone about Apple, with its response to these skin developers. But of course Apple already has its legal team under retainer so may as well use them while they can as Apple faces legal issues from all sides. First is an SEC investigation into the compensation of Mr. Jobs through the use of some stock options. At the same time, Apple faces a suit filed by Cisco for the use of the Linksys device name of iPhone, which was trademarked back in 1996. It may be true that there could be more issues that a judge will have to determine regarding Apple.
