iPhone is it possible to not have notifications come through a Bluetooth device?

What kind of daft question is that?!

It’s the kind of question you should be answering with some self evaluation and then realise there actually is no need for it.

Not only is it anxiety inducing for yourself, but ridiculously annoying to anyone and everyone else.

Might seem dumb but, how's about no notification sound?

This.

I vaguely remember this exact same question posted before.... let me do a search

Edit: can't find it now, but sure there was a solution of sorts. Can't remember the key words to search for, but the user had the exact same problem.

Basically what you saying is, how the hell do one shut up a nagging wife.

Wut?
I don't have my phone on my person all the time to feel vibrate so I need an audible alert.
Why would it be anxiety inducing in any case?
Many people use audible alerts, unless they are in meetings or somewhere that audible alerts would not be appropriate, it's not something unusual, probably the opposite.

Just because everyone does it, doesn’t make it a great or even necessary idea.

You don’t need notifications at all, never mind audible ones.

It’s a symptom of the modern world adding a false sense of urgency to everything, that nobody really needs in their life.

Go to your phone (or other device) in your own time, not when it demands attention of you.

You have made some bizarre statements in the past but this one takes the cake. Maybe it's time to get out of the tiny box you confine yourself to and try see usage scenarios from different perspectives :p

In any case I have all notifications turned off on my phone baring Whatsapp and SMS and I don't believe that's being unreasonable.

I can't believe no one has recommended switching to Android.

/S

P.S. You can do it with Android .
Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that could see how the scenario I outlined in the OP could be useful.. Android even went as far as to bake it into their OS, which means it's probably headed iOS way in a few years :whistling:

Try it, you might just like it.

It’s actually based on a lot of science.

Other wild concepts include things like multitasking being a farce and even the likes of listening to music while working being a distraction.

So then what’s the objection sounds like you are on the same page?

I seem to recall there was some trick whereby you dropped the volume of notifications while connected to Bluetooth by triggering one and then pulling the volume down and then they stay off.

Much like Siri’s volume adjust independently of system volume.

But this was many years ago when my BT headphones had a weird beep between audio tracks.

Try it.. you may just like missing an emergency call or alert from a loved one.
Or miss an important business call and lose a major deal or sour the relationship with an important work partner.

How can we be on the same page if I do indeed have notifications willingly enabled, I certainly don't want more notifications but I do see the usefulness in having the important ones enabled so I do not miss them.

The OP loves to create such threads and then **** on the suggestions. Best to just ignore.

Amazing we have survived for this long to reach this petty state.
And yet here you are wasting your life away sht talking on the forum day in day out, all day everyday.

Favourites exist for this reason, they get through DND barriers.

Focus modes are there for business calls to be allowed through.

There’s a context for everything.

I don’t consider calls to be Notifications regardless. The ringer is a separate thing for a reason.

You said you had the majority disabled which is all I was getting at. I certainly don’t have every notification disabled, but always silenced yes.

Vibrate off for vast majority as well as Lock Screen alerts.

I’ve for years wished Apple would introduce a default setting so you don’t have to go bloody configure it each and every time for every new app then I would just have the Badge icons on by default.

8:30 in the morning my phone automatically switched to Work focus which only allows calls and select apps to notify (badges, not lock screens, no audio) and back to Personal at 17:30 which turns off all work stuff and enabled some personal stuff.

When I get on the bike it automatically sets me to Driving mode and kills everything with an auto reply to say I’m on the bike and can’t respond.

And of course at night it automatically goes into Sleep mode which kills everything but calls from Favourites.

I’m just very much less is more when it comes to Notifications. Only turn on what you need and then at the bare minimum. Don’t let notifications and in turn your devices rule your life.
