iphone messenger help please !

Hi

recently got an iphone but hate that everytime i get an sms it pops the message on the screen ... is there anyway to disable the pop up... i get alot of notifications from my bank ... balance etc and sometimes my phone is laying on my desk with people around me usually and i get an sms with my balance showing up for the whole world to see

any solutions ?

the phone is jailbroken if that helps

There are cydia apps that will suppress them. Can't remember the names offhand.

Also look at notification settings. You may be able to kill the popups there- not sure.

upgrade to IOS5 and configure in notification centre

There's an option to turn off the message in the settings. You'll only be notified that you got an SMS from xyz, but it won't show the message "preview"

I can't remember the exact setting, but play around and you'll find it very quickly. No need to turn the notification off entirely or jailbreak the phone.

Notifications - Messages - Show Preview Off.
