Apple is hosting a special event tomorrow to provide details of iPhone OS 3.0 which is rumoured to accompany a new iPhone in June.

Over the weekend Kevin Rose (found of Diggnation) said that the new OS would definitely include copy and paste. Other rumoured additions also include MMS and internet tethering.

So hopefully based on tomorrows news there may be a few less reasons to jailbreak!
 
Won't be upgrading till Dev-Team release jailbreak for 3.0.

I can do all of the above mentioned anyway.... And 2.2 has been soooo stable so I would wait til Dev-Team give the go ahead to upgrade.

Since Kevin is right about half of the time expect copy . . . or paste . . . not both :D
 
So let's start guessing how much we going to pay for this new upgrade. Can just imagine the ads flying around 'iPhone 3 - now with copy and paste'

As will all upgrades in the past I'm guessing it will be free for iPhone users and a small charge for iPod Touch users (cos of US accounting rules).

True! I hope he's wrong about MMS being excluded again. Not because I've ever wanted to send an MMS but because it will hopefully stop some of the whinging!

He is in the corner curled up in a fetal position because the tube express was overrated and the iPhone just keeps getting better without having to splash out on a new model every month. The urge to get an iPhone is too strong now.
 
and the urge to get mine fixed is even greater, have already order a new case and still have not sent the phone to get repaired yet :)

I am curious to know if the new OS would work with the old iPhones?
 
MMS is not that appealing. Flash support would be great, background apps, improved GPS support. Copy/paste is a no-brainer, it should have been fixed in a firmware update long ago. The prospect of a new iPhone lineup is very appealing - a better screen perhaps, maybe AMOLED? I'd go for that in a heartbeat.
 
I think it would be worth my while to wait before I get an iPhone. Was thinking of getting the iPhone 3G but am going to wait to see what Apple releases next.

Stunning phone. Been contemplating stealing my mates :p
 
I want lots more RAM and lots more disc space - at least 80GB or so. Then I won't have to manage my music collection manually any more. I could just let it sync.
