End users will get these features this Summer, and will be iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3rd generation compatible. They will run everything. The iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2nd generation–will run “many things”, but they will not get multitasking.

Wonder why you can't get iPhone OS 4.0 on an original iPhone or iPod touch? They have exactly the same hardware as an iPhone 3G.

Oh THERE WAS A TIME when announcements like this had me selavating, BUT since 14 March I have everything I need in a small device without jailbreaking :p Blackberry FTW. Multitasking, video camera, tethering, oh did I mention unlimted internet on the phone for R59/pm bwahahaha. Good luck guys I really hope OS4.0 brings everything it promised.

Personally I will never get a iPhone again until I can get all the functionality of a BB on the IPhone.

Nah. iPhone is better, the screen is better, the OS is better, the whole experience is better. Especially the 3GS.

I cannot argue wih the fact that the iPhone LOOKS better, but it's not about looks it's about functionality. I need a device that's more than a pretty face.

What is on the BB that doesn't / won't exist on the iPhone that you need every single day?

For starters I dont need a PC to setup my phone. Out of the box it worked everyting was setup on my phone when I opened it up and all I had to do was activate BIS which was done with a few keystrokes on the phone.

I get my email on the phone instantly (no tedious setup on gmail as a exchange server blah blah)
I can now swop pics & music with my 15y daughter at will while she is in her room and I in mine.
I dont have to goto the app store to download apps/games/IM etc.
I dont have to jailbreak my phone after every software upgrade (that comes with great pomp & ceremony but always undelivers)
The list goes on.

I will add that as a multi media device the iPhone is great (iPod) but I am not really into that.

So yes guys enjoy your iPhone it's a nifty little toy with far too many limitations. I had mine for 8 months crashed it 5 times spent hours reading the forum and posting hundreds of comments trying to sort it out. It was the most fun I had with my clothes on :p no really I did but at the end of the day I want to take my phone make a call, chat with friends send & recieve emails, mms, sms & surf the internet (which is what I do 90% of the time).
