iPhone SE

Seriously this is a 5s with updated innards. Should have just called it the 5se it even uses the same cases and covers.

I think this was a good set of devices...the smaller iphone will do well. Also, the 9.7 iPad Pro makes a lot of sense, the other one is too big and does not have functionality to replace mac book air yet. I'm definitely keen for the new iphone.

Totally agree. I'm keen on both. I'll wait for pricing to drop on the iPad but will take out a contract if pricing is good from launch on the iPhone

No one is saying otherwise...that's exactly what Apple went for. What does the name matter anyway? :)

Is it the exact same shell size as the 5S? I'd be happy if my old cases could fit it:)

What do you all assume contract pricing to be? I'm guessing R400 per month but looking at the following, maybe a little less?

My MTNChoice 100 iPhone 6 is R399
My MTNChoice 50 iPhone 5S is R229 (probably about R299 on the 100 package?)

With that in mind, I'd guess R350 might sound right because the 6 is more expensive in the US.

It does look like it, yes...

I know of a lot of people who want an iPhone, but in 4" size, they feel the 5S is a perfect size. So I applaud this model, with updated specs it would be a nice solution for many. Just a pity about the 16Gb capacity, looking at the new iPad Pro models I see they have done away with 16Gb, they should do it on all the iPhones too.

If you compare dollar prices with ZAR prices on the iPhones, and use the same multiplication factor, the SE could sell for around R9,000. If the networks could just price it well on contract, it would sell good, but I doubt they will. That was the problem with the 5C, it was suppose to be more affordable, but it was priced so close to the proper models that everybody just went for the latter instead.

Yup; all reports indicate old cases work.

I think your pricing structure sounds fairly solid as well.

I don't think they will be silly to price it like 5c levels ito so close to the then flagship 5s.

For around that price I have no issue getting one; maybe the Rose Gold; for the wife come Sep (upgrade time from her Blue 5c)

Apple have never been in the habit of targeting anything other than upper market.

It's not badly priced when comparing sim free prices in the UK.

16GB 6s £539
16GB SE £359

So by a guesstimate, the SE costs around 2/3rds of the 6s price.
