iPhone SE

So I go to a store in N1 city to look for a case. While there, another customer asked me which phone is that. So I tell him iPhone SE blah blah blah (mention all the specs and how it compares to the flagship)... Won't the idiot behind the counter refer to the SE as a poor man's iPhone. After I chuckled a bit, I tried to explain the appeal of the device to him. He was unable to see the advantages and stood firm that (according to him), the iP SE is a poor man's iPhone, Apple even said so themselves HAHA.

I wonder how many other people have that incorrect mindset?

It's only a smaller iPhone 6s. I think it would have been slightly better received if it actually looked the like current gen iPhones. I seriously enjoyed my iPhone 5s and Apple might be hoping that this model might be a stepping stone for many people after a year or two to move over to the slightly more expensive flagships (flagship isn't really the correct word because on paper there isn't anything really setting them apart).

If the difference between a poor man and a rich man is only R200 p/m, then I don't know hey...:D

Maybe if you are the kind that live month-to-month.
But in that case an iPhone should be the last thing on your mind.

^ Nope my comment was not directed to you, I was mocking the mentality of the employee of the store

I know :D

Mine too.

I usually notice it is the lower income group that judges wealth by what you have (aka what you wear, drive, etc,).

What is the best premium feeling case I can get for this? I was looking at the iPhone Leather case buy My iStore support has confirmed that it is not in the country (yet).

I'm sure any of the iPhone 5s leather cases would fit, they are an identical size after all.

So the other guys can launch the product already, and cell c just have a pre-order page?

Really wish Vodacom had the 64Gb available on their uChoose Flexi 200 contract.
The 16Gb version is just not enough space for me, and the Smart S contract doesn't have much free data.

Hoping they will add the 64Gb on their site when more stock is received.

The 64GB is in short supply, for example, US and UK Apple Stores are showing 2-3 weeks for stock.

Give incredible connection a call and find out stock nationwide. They can then initiate a transfer to your closest branch. An IBT. I know when I enquired, George in the Western Cape had 1 64gb. Give it a shot. They do offer all vodacom deals as well.

Thanks, but I'm not after one personally (I have a 6s), just making a general comment about the stock situation ;).

Anyone have any inside info on when CellC will actually launch the iPhone SE?
