I've been struggling to get gmail working on wifi.

I enabled imap on my gmail settings (did nothing with pop settings?)
and followed the instructions carefully, but nothing works, "account verification failed" I can browse with no problems.

* Incoming Server: imap.gmail.com (and tried imap.googlemail.com)
* Outgoing Server: smtp.gmail.com (and tried smtp.googlemal.com)
* Authentication: [email protected] + email password
* ‘Use secure Socket Layer (SSL)’ (and tried without too)
* Ports: 587 Outgoing, 993 Incoming

I'm using cybersmart as an isp, not sure if there might be special setting for that.
People I know use this setup on edge or 3g only, which works fine, because they also could not get it working.
Arrrr
Please help:)

Have you tried it on 3g or edge only, ie not using your wifi connection?

Just another thought, have you enabled imap access on your gmail account? You will have to enable this in settings before you can access your email. Gmail does not enable this by default. In fact I think that this is your problem.

Just have a look to see whether the IMAP ports aren't blocked on your router's firewall.
