I am thinking of investing in a smart phone and would like to hear opinions from people's that have these phone or even had both.

For just plain and simple phone user, which phone would you guys prefer and why ?

I apologise beforehand if this thread was discussed already.

iPhone. It does 'plain and simple' better than Android. I didn't want plain and simple; I wanted open and customisable, which is why I've got a 'droid.

“When you choose an iPhone, you are also choosing to go to heaven. When you don’t choose an iPhone you should know that you are choosing that man who carries a fork… who cooks people. When you are carrying an iPhone, you are blessed. When you get up there, there are different phones used but when you have an iPhone, you will be let through to go to heaven."

Then honestly, why are you looking at these phones? They both do wahaaaaaaaay more than just the plain and simple.

SGS... the cellphone that conquers all cellphones.

Sent from my GT-I9000 using MyBroadband Android App

iPhone, no question. Fully customisable with the right add-ons, too. Played with the SGS quite a bit but would still take my iPhone over it any day.

Its very tough. I have owned the HTC desire and an iphone. Im using the iphone mostly and its awesome but then so is the android. Is down to personal preference.

My post of the day :)

I have an iPhone 4 and love it. Saying that, my contract is up for renewal in May and am seriously considering Android. They are both excellent IMHO and it's really about personal preference. Play with them for a bit and make your own mind up.

A phone is like buying a car to certain extent. First its about status, but you also want the capabilities just in case you want to use them. I like gadgets, but from what I have seen from afar is that the Iphone is just about apps. Look don't get me wrong, it might not be. But this is all what I have seen. I will do more research, but like to hear other peoples opinionis

iPhone 4 gets my vote. I’ve been playing with Android phones as well, but Android just isn’t on par with it. Not to mention that Android does feel sluggish (to me) on the Galaxy.

From your link:
However, the iPhone 4 wasn’t competing against that stellar group of mobile devices introduced at CES 2011. Up against the iPhone 4 for this year’s awards were the HTC Desire, LG Optimus 7, BlackBerry Torch 9800 and the Samsung Galaxy S. Fair enough, though, because the iPhone 4 is also last year’s model.

Depends on who you listen to...
The T3 Phone of the Year was be judged on usability, innovation, new features and product design. Smartphones were, once again, a huge product area with HTC, Motorola, Apple, Nokia et al launching more great handsets. But the outstanding handset and Phone of the Year 2010 was the HTC Desire.

Bottom line is they're both damn good. It's more a question of whether one accepts Apple's corporate philosophies or not.

Apple's tightly controlled echo system and approval process have the benefit that it's got less iOS malware on the loose than those for Droids. Read an article recently that you can't even compare the two. There's even known malware on the Droid's App store.

I'm happy with my iPhone4 (love it), but is not naive enough to rule out Android. When it's more mature and less fragmented, I might consider switching.

GO Android, Samsung Galaxy S to be exact. Killer phone and just gets better with custom roms.
