Hi, I seem to be having an issue with the iPhone5 power/lock button.
I noticed quite recently that it seems to be getting less responsive. It works when I apply a bit of pressure to the left side of the button.
I have had this phone for over a year now and have not dropped it or dinged it in any way. It has screen guards on both sides of the device and has a speck case on it since day 1.
One issue I have is that a friend got this from me from the UK when it launched.
When going to an iStore for assistance, they refused to look at it since the device was not purchased from them. They did not want to even help me with finding the location of a repair center.
I understand that a store would not be able to refund me based on this, but i thought that these iStores at least have a repair service since its an apple device. I wouldn't have minded paying to have the device looked at.
Going through the net, I have read many cases of this issue, and people managed to get their devices replaced with no questions asked. While the location of purchase is different, I understand that Apple itself has a warranty for their devices.
Does anyone know where I can get this sorted out?
I thought that the iStores were the place to go for repairs etc. It seems that Apple stores work much differently in SA than overseas.
