iPhone5, what features?

can it make calls?

Unfortunately not....but why would you need to?

You're hip & cool, so all your friends are already on Facebook, Twitter & whatsapp....phone calls are so.....yesterday.

But if you really must make a phone call, Apple has patented a new external antennae, that you just screw in & you should get 2G/3G reception. Schweet!

and we still have call boxes if we need to make calls.

I don't think it will be called the iPhone 5.

I think it will be the iPhone 4G. I mean after 3 came 3G and 4G is now all the rage in the states. I think it will have the same body but some different features internally like NFC.

Not really.

3G was called that beacause of the implementation of 3G into the device. (the 3G was the 2nd device btw. not 3rd) Now unless the 5th iPhone is 4G capable then I don't see them calling it that. It will be just iPhone 5

and I just got my iPhone 4 ;(

Use it till June when the iPhone 5 comes out & sell it....but me thinks we'll see the new iPhone sooner.

New phones are being released so quick now, that the iPhone is already seen as older tech.

why would they release different versions of the same phone so close to each other and not wait for THE PERFECT phone and release that one?

Are you referring to the GSM and CDMA models? There aren't many places outside the US where CDMA is even available so it's really a moot point for us.

There's no such thing as the perfect phone anyway.

I think they'll continue to stick to the annual releases of new models because people are on annual/biennial contracts.

what i mean is it just seems like yesterday they released the iPhone and already there is a 5th version of it out. do they release these to the mass market and gather info from people to see what people like or dislike then bring out the upgraded version?

A company releasing one new phone per year isn't really a lot, is it?
