Hi everyone

I have copied all my photos off my hard drive to my MacBook Pro, when I import them into iPhoto I cannot arrange the photos in the same way they are in folders.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi everyone

I have copied all my photos off my hard drive to my MacBook Pro, when I import them into iPhoto I cannot arrange the photos in the same way they are in folders.

I'm not an iPhoto user but I have played around with it. The one thing I remember was that all my photos were imported and then if I wanted to arrange them, I had to create a new 'event' and then add photos to that event.

You could also import photos separately into iPhoto and each time you do so, you can either create a new 'event' or simply add to an existing 'event'.

iPhoto calls folders 'events' and the logic behind this I think is because if, for example, you are importing photos for a birthday party, or holiday trip, or work function etc, that is an 'event' so when you say folders, iPhoto's translation would be 'events'.

Hope that helps. Maybe some other iPhoto guru's on here can give a more detailed explanation of this or your problem.

Cheers.

1- Open /Pictures/ and locate the “iPhoto Library” file
2- Right-Click (=Control-Click) and select “Show Package Contents”
3- Navigate to “Originals” (or "Masters") to find your original iPhoto pictures
