I'm not sure if this is the right forum because it could also be a car issue but my Hyundai i30 has suddenly stopped recognising my iPod (4th generation; according to the manual it should work), after it worked fine for months.

Possibly a connected issue: the FM radio had weird issues while the iPod was connected. Sometimes it would for no obvious reason say "TP search" and switch off the current station. At other times, it would break into the iPod with a traffic report, on a station that was not doing anything that sounded like a traffic alert.

Now I've taken the iPod out, the radio works as you would expect: if the FM station reception drops off a bit, it retunes to another alternative to that same station (whereas before it would, even with a good signal, retune to a different station). I don't know if it does the random switch to "traffic reports" because I don't have any other aux device and don't usually keep CDs in the car.

Any ideas on what the problem might be, or a pointer to a better place to ask?
