At first there was a folder and a triangle on the screen,Itunes restores it and updated the software, now there is a picture showing to plug it in a wallsocket.Ok i did this as you need to power it via the charger to finish the firmware update or what ever it did....guess what i did plug it in and the wallcharger thingie pic is still there.

What do i do now.Its a 20gig ipod something.
What can i do now.I remember the hdd was perfect as i used it as a memory stick a hour before the restore through itunes.
Who does ipod repairs, anyone on the forum in capetown.:(

To fix a 20GB iPod, which I'm guessing is a 3rd of 4th Gen, will cost more than buying a new, 16GB iPod nano.

Logic says buy new iPod

Not really? Depends what part is busted, and even if its the LB, its only around 1k.....

the only problem i can see would be parts for older models....

What justifies spending R1k for an old 20GB iPod?
Who knows if it just R1k? It could be more, especially if it's a circuit problem or HDD problem.

For R1k, id fork out another R1k for a smaller, lighter, colour, video playing, picture viewing, album artwork showing iPod with longer battery life and Genius.

Yup... indeed... true.

20GB Ipod lost right channel... only left channel plays... repair quote R4000.00. Was told to take it or leave it.

I left it.

Check if it's still under warranty. I got mine replaced by apple when i had a similar issue.
