IPP in Cape Town

Any Electricity supplied will land up costing us more , this will just be another money making scam.
can already hear the spin from CoCT, cost an arm maybe a leg bit more, but, thank gods no LS -- know your #DA ...end of the day, the consumer will be the one that gets ****ed....as always.

You have inside knowledge of the price per KWh that will be charged by IPPs?

I'd be R2.00/kWh if it meant zero load shedding.
No knowledge but it's not like the DA is known for being soft on residents when it comes to such things, this is an opportunity for them to milk the situation as they did with the day zero water rates, I would be very surprised if they don't take full advantage.

But to what end?

Are the DA going in hard to keep the entities afloat and ensure continued service, or are they lining their pockets as you imply?

If the choice is paying and maintaining a service during a crisis, or go the Eskom route and allow millions to leach unhindered for free, resulting in constant service disruptions and facilities on the edge of collapse, I know which I'd choose.
