Can someone please tell me what the different IP ranges for capped and uncapped so I can check to see whether I am capped or not.

There is no seperate IP ranges for capped vs uncapped. The capping is handled by your username when you authenticate

I am pretty sure that I saw somewhere something about the range 165.165.*.* being connected to being capped or uncapped.

I've noticed that when i'm uncapped my ip is always in the 165.146.*.* range and when i'm capped it's always in the 165.165.*.* range. I would imagine that when the radius server authenticates you it sticks on either one of those subnets depending if you are capped or not.

It is possible I am wrong. Will watch the IP's more closely for the next month to see.

Manson, there is really no need for repeating Gambit, especially in a very "I told you so" tone.

Routers do routing on IP addresses, so I would suspect one is routed via the thin pipe when capped by using routing rules for different IP address ranges.

All posts are correct. The saix radius server puts you on the 165.165 range when you are capped.

The low 165.165.1~50.* (+-) is for unshaped ADSL.
The mid 165.165.50~100.* (+-) is for capped users.
The high 165.165.100~254.* and 165.146.*.* is for users not yet capped.
Also depends on what exchange you are on. Not too sure on the exact figures, but thats roughly the breakdown of the 165.165 range from what i've seen...
