Howzit guys,

I need a bit of direction here. Im looking for a good IPsec VPN device. It only needs a maximum of 10 users. Dont need it to be used as a router. Basically only need it be : IPsec VPN and Firewall. It will be used on a windows domain.

I have looked at the following so far but all the reviews i've read dont sound to convincing :

- Billion S10 - They say the management interface is k@k and it comes with a 300 page manual just to set it up :/
- Billions S20 - Overkill especially for the price and the needs.
- Netgear FVS318 - Good device but slow VPN speeds.
- Dlink netdefend 210 - Just not that good apparently.

Any help would be much appreciated in going forward with this. thanks

Any specific reason it has to be IPSec? I'm thinking along the lines of OpenVPN...

Erm, it's available on hardware devices/appliances besides running it on a PC.

I will look into like the shrew soft client but im kind of looking for a hardware device that has the VPN built into it like in ones i linked above. Its an "all-in-one" solution so to say..

I dont really want to install software on the PC itself.

That's what I'm saying. Astaro, Endian, Vyatta spring to mind and I'm sure there are more.

When I said PC I should have clarified and explained using it as a server to handle all VPN connections and not installing client software on each individual PC. It even runs on Linksys routers that can use linux.

Yeah i know you didn't mean install anything on client PC's. I wouldn't do that anyway :p

There we go thank you :)

Thing is you gave me an example of OpenVPN, i don't want to install this software on my server and manage my clients like that.. i wanted a hardware device just like you pointed out now. thank you :)
Oh ya and im just wondering what people would recommend, cause as i pointed out in my OP those are all devices with built in VPN and firewall functionality.

---- Maybe im just confusing myself stupidly? Yes no ? I think i might be :p
