IPv6 Roll Out

I am experiencing the same thing with Telegram, always works on my phone but i need to restart it a few times on desktop to "catch up" since it just stops getting messages after a while
Yeap... since I disabled IPv6 I no longer have this issue though... Will enable again tomorrow morning to test and make sure that's where the problem was and/if it was just coincidence.

It went away when I set it to connect via a socks proxy on my localhost (i.e. no ipv6)

Even under the update check menu on the desktop app it said it couldn't connect to check for updates.

There is a known issues with Telegram and IPv6.

We also looking at an issue with Rockstar Games Club on GTA giving issues.

Co-asking. I've asked @AfriNatic and couldn't really find why the IPv6 DNS options are set to automatic.

We have noticed that on PPPoE connections the DNS is locked. I will chat to the Warehouse Manager so we can include this to be unlocked with the next update. We will have to chat to the vendor with regards to this so it might take some time as it would require a firmware update.

For now the work around is to set the DNS on device level.

would be nice for it to allow ipv4 resolvers (for people who use smart dns) - i notice it only allows ipv6's to be entered if you do the manual option.

Those should still be possible to set in the WAN settings. It's just the IPv6 DNS that is lock.

ok i didn't spend too much time fiddling with that hauwei ws5200.. god awful router for anyone who wants to do anything technical, i honestly found the dir-825 way better for things like custom routing / custom dns / firewall etc.
from an AH perspective i do see how it is advantageous to dish out to the general populus though - very little room to screw it up.

I am testing out some Yealink phones on my network, specifically testing IPv6 and dual stack, and they aren't getting IPv6 addresses. Latest models with the latest firmware and they just not getting IPv6 addresses.

Anyone got any idea why? I am very confused.

EDIT: It appears that the phones need SLAAC.

@AfriNatic any chance you are blocking the Yealink MAC address range to stop your VoIP client's devices from getting IPv6 addresses?

@AfriNatic since you guys are under the same umbrella as CISP maybe @TheRoDent can give some advice on the IPv6 prefixes swapping around on OS?
Mine keeps going from 2c0f:f4c0:a141 to 2c0f:f4c0:a142 to 2c0f:f4c0:a143 and around and around again.

We are still working on things behind the scenes. With Openserve we added it for clients to be able to use but technically still not needed as we have enough public IPv4 addresses on Openserve. We will still work on getting it tweaked and performing better.

alrighty - it's not major but it does cause certain devices to go dead until it refreshes on the lan

I also disabled mine when my smart dns stopped working for streaming and and Telegram stopped working on our laptops.
