IPv6 Roll Out

Could just be the browser.

What does the rest of the traffic do for IPv6 if you do a ping test to google.co.za for example.
did try in firefox as well with similar results. Was however my first toe dip into ipv6, so many challenges to overcome still (don't think i restarted pc or router at that stage, and pc still had static ipv4 configured)
does routing metrics come into play at all (ipv4 metrics seems lower than ipv6, which leads me to believe that ipv4 will be preferred)

will try again tonight/weekend and report back if any changes improved the result

What router are you using currently?

Mikrotik (hap ac2) -> but want to probably keep ipv4 as i have servers/dockers on private side that seems to not yet fully be ipv6 compatible (looking at you plex)
will be a growing pain to forget 20 years of networking :O :O

Might be a config issue on the Mikrotik.

Interresting about plex. It's definitely IPv6 capable.

My Vuma line was installed a week ago and @AfriNatic your support has provided no solution - with IPV6 I can only reach sites that accept IPV6 connections and with only IPV4 enabled there is no connectivity - tried 3 different routers and a direct connection without a router - I cannot even access your site with IPV6 (activate.afrihost.com) but I can reach google and other international sites

Hi,

What router are you currently using? Can you send me a pm with your email address so I can have a look for you?

anyone managed to get ipv6 working on Mikrotik where the Mikrotik is being used as a DMZ and has been offered a /64 by the main WAN router? Tried adding a dhcp client to the ether1 (wan) port but it never gets anything. since it's not static I can't manually add the pool...

Unfortunately the AX3 doesn't have such a great firewall. It's either on or off which means you would need to switch it off and use a firewall on all your devices to protect them.
Hi, I decided it's time to look into this again.
Is there a good guide / youtube video on how to set it up on the mikrotik hap ac2?

Happy chappy

It's also super easy to save the command and have it execute over HTTP POST on a raspberry pi laying around or something

I'm now using NextDNS over both IPv4 and IPv6 :--)

Why use other DNS and route yourself away from Afrihost in-network caches and CDNs? You're architecting a worse internet experience for yourself.
Some important nodes and caches are done based on Afrihosts own DNS.
Worst case you're going all over for traffic you could be getting at the first hop.
