Hi,

Just wondering if Coolideas has implemented IPv6 capabilities as yet, I’m moving from Capetown to Johannesburg and I’m shopping around for a new isp, IPv6 is important to me for my own learning and future proofing, not because of any pressing need to change.

Thanks
Robert

It’s active on Openserve, not sure about other FNOs

Hi, yes we have but still within a trial phase. It's supposed on select networks in Jhb.

Thanks, I think I’ll be on Vumatel, any ideas if they are covered? And what’s the prefix delegation size you are offering

Thanks
Robert

Vuma Active E (Trenched) or Pon Aerial?

Pricing is flat for Vumatel so that won't tell you, can you post a photo of the CPE?
We still waiting to move in so this is the closest I can get of a picture from the viewing

This is great news. I've been asking nagging for IPv6 for a while.
@CoolEscalator, is this available for MTN Fibre in JHB yet?
Hi there, yes it is available for MTN in JHB as far as I'm aware.
Simply enable DHCPV6 client, and you should receive a delegated /56 prefix (not static as yet)

Seems IPV6 is enabled in my area over Vumatel Aerial

Ping statistics for 2c0f:fb50:4002:805::200e:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 4ms, Maximum = 4ms, Average = 4m

Is this also /56 prefix and is the prefix fixed?

Hi there. Yes it's a /56, unfortunately not fixed/static as yet

Hi @CoolEscalator I have a Ubiquiti cloud gateway ultra router, yesterday when logging into the controller software, it said IPv6 was detected on my WAN port and that I must enable it. I am in Durban on Vumatel trenched, is this now available, I did enable it and it looks like I received an IPv6 address but I don't think it is routing over IPv6 network.

HI there, yes V6 was enabled yesterday, but there are some issues we picked up during the change, which are still being worked on (allocation issues, etc) . Thus vuma has extended the change window . Did not want to communicate anything until everything looked good, but feel free to test it out in the meantime :) as far as I'm aware it should be working. You should get a /56 DP via DHCPv6

But since the maintenance is still ongoing, I cannot guarantee stability/functionality at the moment

No, problem, it's seems my router is not receiving a IPv6 default route, it has been assigned an IPv6 address and my local LAN now also sho1793696509724.pngws an IPv6 address and a temporary IPv6 address but testing connectivity over IPv6 fails.
