IPv6: Why direct end to end connectivity matters

I can tell you categorically that "upgrading" to IPv6 will do jack schitt for my internet. It will just increase the processing load on my router. My current router is not capable of that load.

I know my traffic is being throttled to overseas locales, I know my traffic is being eavesdropped. I know my ISP begins to fume and let off steam when I use NordVPN to bypass their BS because that's how I get around.

They can do whatever they want, in fact, let them be them. We will continue to pay extra for NordVPN to get past the time-based blockade that is apparently caused by my router, and we will have decent internet at home. We will get what we pay for, without having to fight, or do pointless WinMTR tests

Hi Emmanuel, you are way off topic in this thread. Please read the original post. It is not about IPv6 giving you better speed, or you using NordVPN to get past throttling. It is about getting a static PrefixDelegation from ISPs in south africa instead of a Dynamic Prefix. I think there are more appropriate threads to engage with your ISP.

v6 won't add any load to any semi decent router. Routers push packets, it's what they're designed to do. In fact, dropping NAT reduces load...

I'm really glad you believe so strongly we have the will, hardware budget or inclination to throttle or eavesdrop. It's simply cheaper and better for us to provide capacity - so that's what we do, and what purpose would eavesdropping serve? The hardware to achieve these claims adds no value, and adds significantly to costs. Happy to talk you through exactly how the internet gets to your home from. Drop me a PM.

We have no problem with you using any VPN you want. Zero steam here. However is surprises me how much trust is placed in an organisation that has no obligation to data integrity, security or operates under any local jurisdiction/requirements when it comes to such. The fact that VPN makes such a difference points to some sort of TCP packet issue (David Bombal has a great segment on his Youtube explaining these).
