I was just wondering about this file. It is located in my Temp folder. Now I have enabled all of the tweaks provided by TheRoDent and am quite happy I did. But this text file is like 800MB. Do I delete it between reconnects or what? Its getting pretty big and I need the space. Of course I cant touch it while Im connected and cant open it. Any idea what it is?

Yes im using the official dialer and yes I know I can use other dialers. Still, I would like an answer to the question.

Huh... IPWreg.txt ??? never heard of it.
I did a search through my whole PC and such a file dont exist.
Maybe its the official dialers log.

Its a log file kept by the IPWireless Dialer software. It was enabled in the first batch, but was reported to IPWireless and they have disabled keeping the log since then.

The modem creates a log file under c:\windows called

'ModemLog_Wireless Broadband Modem (WDM).txt'

Mine is about 80k in size, but if you check the option 'append to file' under yr modem settings this file could get huge [;)]

I did a more thorough search (enabled 'system' & 'hidden files and folders' in search options) and found 2 files under C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Local Settings\Temp (where ***** == yr logon name)

IPW.txt
IPWreg.txt

One is 263kB and the other 200kB, both dated approximately the last time I logged onto the network. [;)]

If I dont delete the files they get HUGE. My file was 850MB when I deleted it.

Is there any news on the rumoured new firmware? And dialler software from IPWireless?

My pc has been slowing down recently and I knew it wasnt spyware or such-like.

A check in my temp files found ipwreg.txt - 2 8 GIG !!

After shutting down the dialer I was able to delete it - and life returns to normal. How do I stop this from building a continuous log again ?

Modem software is 5.0.1.60 , Bootloader 4.2.1.8
