I don't even see this on distrowatch, but I've been playing with it and it's pretty cool.

It's basically a really stripped down version of Ubuntu (including version 11.04)

iQunix OS

iQunix OS, is a Linux operating system based on the popular Ubuntu distribution. It's unique design offers an experienced Ubuntu users and specialist a "bare-bone", GNOME based, operating system in which nothing is pre-installed.

Why iQunix

You have seen many distributions out there that are fancy, full fleged with lots of preinstalled applications. But none of them are pure Operating System. In contrast, iQunix is just an operating system that after you install it, you are in charge. You have the total control over what and how you do install your applications, icons, themes and every other aspect that makes your Linux desktop experience unique.

It took just over 3 minutes to install in Virtualbox.

Check it out.

There is a spelling mistake on their main page
You can burn the ".iso" file in a CD or move it to a USB memory stick using UneBootIn.

It should be unetbootin

Can't believe how quickly this installs, but with almost no packages I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Just finished setting up a PXE, Samba, FOG Server with Ubuntu 11.04, but tempted to redo it all over again using this instead :p

So DM, can you use the Ubuntu repositories with this one?

I must admit I'm rather partial to debs and apt, which is prolly why Arch hasn't stuck with me.

It took just over 3 minutes to install in Virtualbox.

You're lucky, it took more than 15 minutes to boot from the livecd (iso boot) in a virtualbox, then more than 5 minutes to boot in a virtualbox after the install. It's the slowest thing I've come across.

I'm busy with some of the updates, and it's killing my machine just trying to build a new kernel for gnome panel. (Using the 11.04 image.)

Well, I've installed it in both VirtualBox on my home PC and my laptop and it never takes more than about 4 minutes to install. I've also installed it on 3 different standalone PC's and it takes just as long to install.

I've recently tried a lot of Ubuntu distributions again to see how they have progressed (i.e. Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Bodhi, ElementaryOS ect), but I keep coming back to Iqunix. It is the most basic install allowing you to build onto it.

Also it comes standard with Remastersys installed. So what I've done is install all the apps that I use most often and then create a new ISO of the OS. I then dumped it to my flash drive with UNetbootin. I can now run Iqunix live from USB on any PC in less than 5 minutes. Great for IT admins :D

EDIT:
I actually I just timed how long it took to boot into Iqunix off my flash drive. It took 48 seconds PC = AMD Athlon X2 7750 with 1GB RAM off a cheap generic USB flash drive.

Interesting, I tried it again, and it *is* dog slow (Virtualbox 4.08, iqlinux-11.04-32bit.iso). Booting the iso off a hard disk so it should be faster than USB. I'll try it on my missus's machine later (better specs than my desktop). I'm having much more fun with Debian at the mo, so not wanting to put too much effort into this.
