Irresponsible/ biased press reporting

I think anyone with half a brain would realise the intention was for the ready to think Terreblanche and Hitler.

Again. You see no connection between Terreblanche and Hitler in terms of racial supremacy?

Guess I am not allowed to discuss that even though you raised it, so just ignore the post and carry on :D

For your sake I could go and find some of the other examples I have read but I'm afraid that doing so will result in your nitpicking these rather than focussing on the big picture!

I apologise that you used an invalid example :D

No feel free to discuss it. Let's perhaps start with the numbers that each killed in their life time. I'm sure you'll manage to find a direct link there.

Again. Ideology. Don't play dumb. This is a waste of time.

Individual reporters have distinctly shown themselves to take sides in recent reports relating to incidents in South Africa.

I am not at all impressed with the media in the last week or so.... they are using the fear (in fact I think they are creating the fear but anyway) to sell papers instead of just reporting responsibly.

I agree 100%. One more example:- Earlier this week SAPA sent out an article under the headline "Relations between farmers, workers must change" which was published on News24 here and The Citizen (which I picked up, there probably were more). This must be one of the worst pieces of journalism I have seen.

The headline suggested that the relations between all farmers and all their workers are not what it should be. In support they quote one person, whose authority on this matter is not established, as saying "who knows, they might have been ill-treated" referring to the two who killed Mr Terreblanche.

I consider this another example of an open display of racist bias which is creating fears amongst many. Trying to justify the murder of farmers without any substantiation. This is extremely irresponsible reporting. If they wanted to defend the murders at least do so with facts and not speculation presented as fact.

The media is in a unique position to have a lot of influence on people and yet no moral or ethical standards they are forced to stand by..... i believe it is very wrong and have been seeing more and more of it lately.

Even if they had no moral or ethical standards they would have twice as many as the amoral, corrupt governmental scumbags.

Hitler and ET had a lot in common - but from an ideological viewpoint. Both wanted their "race" to be supreme and "independent". As disgusting and misguided as Hitler was, he at least had a strong feeling for racial self-governance and self-determination.

Of course, he went off the deep end.

I agree with everything LancelotSA says. Journalists also irritate me; Yesterday Debbra Patta and her black cameraman went to question emotional AWB members, during the funeral, about their flag! WHAT did she expect these people to answer her? This is how they go and PROVOKE people and then want to run to the police afterwards to lay charges. The AWB guy should have punched her on the jaw as well!

The media is second only to the ANC in the scumbag stakes. After all they were once the biggest proponents for the ANC

Well the Star had me believing all morning that a condom was found at ET's crime scene. Insinuating that ET had a sexual relationship with the accused. Painting a colourful picture of sexual abuse of farmworkers...Only to find out later that it was a load of crap. Got my head all sore thinking of conspiracy theories and stuff.

Newspaper publishers should be fined heavily for releasing lies to sell! Not to mention deceiving the public, which could end up stirring up wrong emotions. Basically, an untrue headline is the same as false advertising. Consumers are mislead into buying content which is false. Surely the Advertising Standards Authority should deal with these guys?
