I got a mail (several actually) from [email protected] saying they are doing credit checks, I have passed credit checks and contract approvals and some more stuff...

I of course think WTF!!?!

Now its a no-reply mail, I dial 083 135 because I use Cell C and I haven't looked at MTN as a provider in years, and there is no "talk to a consultant" option. I mail fraud department because its the right thing to do (see the SABC quote here... its relevant - promise). They mailed back saying phone 135... I just think, "ag fo__of man".

Now I have this contract in front of me, the guy has the same initials and surname as I have but he is in a different province, we do not have the same ethnicity and I have ALL his personal details. I know where he lives, works, banking details and most of his contact details.

I phoned him and explained what I have in front of me... He blew his top. So I am not sure which store in the eastern cape has a dealer code of SABC1718 but you certainly have trouble coming your way...

What email domain, gmail or some other common one? I seem to get messages intended for other people on gmail occasionally for people who have the same surname and initial.

For all you know the applicant submitted an incorrect email address. My boss herself has submitted incorrect details to get business cards printed, and still missed them on the proofing artwork.. I have had to add 3 new email addresses and forwarders for her over the years, and 2 for her husband and another for me.

Then there could have been a squiggled email address written on the form for the store to capture. Or as you suggest the store messed up.
