Looks like you're on knife's edge there, any small variance will most likely cause the line to drop. May be better to get them to drop the speed slightly, I'm not sure what sync profiles they do between 15Mbps and 20Mbps though.

The problem is its his up SNR killing him, the 8 should be fine with a decent router but the 6 up is not and that does not change with your downstream speed. It's the reason I have to stay at ADSL2+, my up gets unstable at 1.2mbit (changes by like 4 points between 1 and 1.2) and I cannot get a VDSL sync since thats 2 mbit, just too much stress on my line.

Its worth trying, heck its only R100 between 10 and 20 so even if it doesnt work out can always go back and scrap 100 as a loss.

I think your profile is still set to ADSL2+, have Telkom change the profile to VDSL and your SNR should improve a lot

In my exchange only 2 out of 11 msans are live. No space on those.
Looking at the 20mbs as a stop gap measure

Depending on where you live, you should be OK till thunderstorm season. Hopefully by then the rest of the MSAN's should be live. That line is on a knifes edge at the moment, just the slightest bit of noise will cause it to drop
