Is Axxess throttling me?

Hi there.

I have a 4MB line which is with Axxess and my ADSL account is also with them.

I am battling for almost two days now to download a 6GB file from software I have bought. I had a couple of times where the download failed. Fortunately I could just restart and it will start from where the download stopped. I have restarted the download again earlier this morning and it was stable for a couple of minutes at round about 400KB/sec. When I came back to my PC, the download was ranging between ±30KB/sec and 80KB/sec. Is my download being throttled or what else can be the reason for this?

You've probably been classified as a "heavy user" and they throttle you...

That's easy to determine, just try downloading using one of the various free isp test accounts avalable.

Hi.
Just some feedback ...
I have a caped account with Axess and am definitely not being throttled. Support has been very helpful and at the end it seems that there can be something wrong with my router. I will swap with a friend's router and check again.
