Hi all,
I would like to know others experience vis-a-vis telkom and IS adsl accounts.
It saddens me to say that over the last year my experience has been that IS broadband connectivity has been worse than Telkoms. At some point last year I switched from Telkom to IS.
I find the IS international and local bandwidth seemed to go down more often than Telkoms and takes longer to resolve.
Part of the problem is that IS seems to have a smug attitude that they are better than telkom because everyone knows Telkom sux. I find they take longer to respond to logged calls and resolve issues if they acknowledge them at all.
This is by no means a scientific comparison but based on my experience and I would like to know others experience.
Also there seems to be a relation between load shedding and poor international bandwidth with IS. Anyone else experience this? I suspect home ADSL users are being shafted in preference to business accounts. Our offices uses IS adsl and doesn't experience the international bandwith problems.
Another point (sorry this is kinda a flow of consciousness post) is that IS adsl accounts are hard capped. Once you go through your limit international bandwidth slows to a crawl as far as I remember this usually didn't happen with Telkom. IS also has a hard cap for local bandwidth. I didn't experience this with Telkom.
Thanks
Mark
