I run one card (1080) at the moment still profitable on eskom power but makes about 1.5k a month on solar. If you're running a solar setup or similar it might make sense. Grid supply probably not.
@Snyper564 afaik still has a rig doing something, might not be bitcoin.
Are you allowed to do that?I work at a large bank and I use the it infrastructure to the mining for me, it is a lot more harder than it used to be.
Seriously doubt it, theft if caught...Are you allowed to do that?
What's the recommended approach to start mining this late into the game?
Is it best to build / buy a rig?
If buying is preferable , any reputable stores that can be recommended?
I'm waiting for post eth2 then I'll buy rigs half price...What's the recommended approach to start mining this late into the game?

I didn't buy the solar for the mining it's a sunk cost in my eyes already. So I didn't take it into accountAssume you haven't factored in battery cycles or maintenance on the solar...
That's fine, planning on that anywaySure... but battery cycles are real and consumption from a rig is considerable. You still need to replace those batteries in 10 years time.
I have a reliable contact in China that can get 220MH (on ETH) machines (8XRX580-8GB cards, including board, ram, cpu, case, psu) for around $5000 each. If you ever decide to get a rig and cant find a cheaper price, DM me.What's the recommended approach to start mining this late into the game?

What is the earning potential of 220MH (on ETH) after eskom costs?I have a reliable contact in China that can get 220MH (on ETH) machines (8XRX580-8GB cards, including board, ram, cpu, case, psu) for around $5000 each. If you ever decide to get a rig and cant find a cheaper price, DM me.
About 0.15 ETH a month (just under 10k atm), electricity is 2k a month. At BCMMs very expensive tariffs. What is the earning potential of 220MH (on ETH) after eskom costs?
Thanks, so ROI in 10 months?About 0.15 ETH a month (just under 10k atm), electricity is 2k a month. At BCMMs very expensive tariffs.
Yeah, thats pretty much it, and the cards have an average min life span of 5 years (if mined 24/7).Thanks, so ROI in 10 months?
Remember to work the difficulty rising into your ROI calculations, dont just use the current value/calculators
