Oh.... so you're one of the bastards downloading stuff on BIS when it's meant to be done using uncapped ADSL...
Hope they throttle your BIS down to 0.1KB/s until you learn to use it as it was meant :D

Queue the angry replies.... 3...2...1......

Someone had to start :D

Please tell me that you were charged out-of-bundle for the 3 Gigs :D

what's the problem? its not BIS. he clearly said he is paying OOB rates. don't understand what the problem is.

The problem is that he expected to not be paying OOB rates - he wanted to download via BIS. The "2 Gigs" that MTN gave him free - was this not his BIS download?

He is expecting to pay, just sounds like he is trying to confirm his experience. If the bis limit is 2gig and I use it will I be treated like a leper as well? I don't use my bb for downloading but if everybody has a 2gig allowance why would u feel the need to persecute people who use their allowance?

But he wasn't pre-April. He was hitting BIS for all it was worth

I was told that when I got my BB that browsing is free but they have told me that you can now only download 2Gigs a day because of ppl taking total advantage and downloading a lot on their phone. I dont need t download stuff as I have uncapped Internet at home....

To all you butthurting children who lack the ability to read (or, at the very least, ask someone to clarify) he mentions that he's aware that tethering and streaming incurs charges but he pays them anyway (don't know why). As was pointed out, if he tethers and streams, that is not covered by BIS and so he is not (technically) utilising BIS and so he can't be abusing BIS if he's not using it. Even if he IS going through BIS, if he's paying R2/mb, I think he fully deserves to "abuse" it, don't you?

What he is saying (unless I am incorrect, Shaman11) is that he used to download using a tethering and got charged for all three gigs (i.e. R2 x 3gigs). Lately, though, he notices that MTN has not charged him for the first 2 gigs (i.e. he sees the charge that was normally R2 x 3 gigs is now equal to R2 x 1 gig even though he/ she knows he/ she used 3 gigs).

What he/ she is then asking is: Is MTN allowing you to tether your BlackBerry and giving you a 2GB allowance?

Exactly what is everyone ragging about?

Shaman11, I don't know. I don't tether and don't use MTN BIS and don't know exactly. I haven't read anything else either. Maybe it was a glitch: if MTN can cock-up and charge people for BIS related activities, maybe they incorrectly DON'T charge people for non-BIS related activities. *shrug*

I tether but have to pay. So, I don't think it does/will ever use the BIS apn. There was an app called Tether I heard about but apearently it also uses the normal internet apn so you get charged.
