Hi folks,,

I've been running a PVR with Extra view into my bedroom via a 1131 decoder. I have now upgraded and linked another PVR in place of the 1131.

Should i be getting digital picture, digital sound (using hdmi and optical cable) and yhe HD channels on the Extra view ?

Many thanks

You didn't specify which PVR decoder you have. The HD PVR (Watch 2, Record 1), or the HD PVR 2P.

I assume at least the new decoder is an HD PVR 2P.
You can output HD Video and 5.1 Surround Sound via HDMI (or 5.1 via Optical also - situation dependent you might as well just use HDMI - less cabling).

Note that when I bought my new HD PVR 2P to use as a secondary decoder with ExtraView, it seemed to have old firmware loaded on it, and I couldn't see any of the HD channels. I phoned customer support and they reset everything to no avail, and asked me to take the decoder to a service centre, meanwhile it was just old firmware. You can solve this by going to advanced options (password 9949) and doing a manual DSD upgrade (ie... Upgrade Now).

Both decoders can watch/record HD channels simultaneously.

Thanks a ton, upgraded and working 100%.

One more Q - i have connected the decoder (via coax) and the PS3 via optical to the surround. (one port each ).The coax seems to take preference as i get sound automatically from pvr but have to disconnect the coax cable in order to get ps3 sound.
The ps3 does not have coax out otherwise i would have swapped around.

Is there a way around this ?
