Hey guys,

So I'm looking to reduce my monthly telecommunications spend - I'm looking at changing cellphone providers from Vodacom to Afrihost (data) and maybe FNB Connect (voice).

What I want to know is, is FNB Connect any good? Is there service and signal actually worth paying for? Do you get dropped calls? What is the call quality like?

EDIT: Also, how long do the bundles last?

FNB connect isnt bad, free whatsapp,
voice is cell c, so sometimes it swaps to vodacom, but not that often....

what I have on my phone is MTN for voice and FNB connect for data, but I caneasily swap to afrihost if the need arrises...

Thanks.

Maybe I'll just use Afrihost then, for both voice and data? Afrihost data is going to work out much, much cheaper than FNB connect data.

With eBucks, I think FNB Connect's voice works out cheaper, but not their data.

However, it would irritate me if I use FNB Connect for voice and the quality isn't great. If Afrihost has better voice call quality, even if it is a little more expensive, I'd rather go for that.

I suppose I'm just wary because I used to be on a 24 month Cell C contract and I hated it because the signal/service was so bad.

well this is just using cell c network, but its FNB's,

look at the positive side, it cost nothing and you can swap around sims wherever you want....
\
you order via FNB online, deliver next day to a branch or home for FREE,

and you can then use it whenever you want....

it even comes with a sim that can break into 3 parts so its easy to use...

That is true, only issue is I'd want to do a sim swap to keep my current number for voice calls.

Just order a free prepaid SIM and test it before you commit.

I did exactly that when they launched, and the signal was terrible

Thinking its a good idea to test again, seeing that I bank with FNB (I want it to work).

Don't use Afrihost for Voice. Get MTN Prepaid for voice and Afrihost just for Data. Afrihost's voice is expiring at the end of every month.

Afrihost mobile says your bundles expire after 12 months?
